Bursaries

Bursaries are available to cover partially or in full the registration fee. In some cases also travel expenses will be covered.

To apply for a bursary, please fill in the registration form and submit it together with your CV, a motivation letter and a recommendation letter signed by your supervisor, by no later than 23 May 2016.

Note: Acceptance letters are being sent to awardees. The first letters have been sent out on 6 June. It might take up to one week to notify all applicants. Do not worry if you haven't received any answer yet.

If you have not been granted a bursary or your bursary does not cover entirely the amount of money requested for your participation, please complete your registration by putting your payment by 20 June 2016.

Several grants are available from the Italian Crystallographic Association (AIC) to support the participation of young students (i.e. with no permanent or long-term position) in the AICS2016. Applicants must be members of the AIC (membership can be obtained at the moment of the application).

Young Scientists Awards are granted by the International Union of Crystallography. The awards cover travel and subsistence expenses and a substantially reduced registration fee will be provided for recipients of the Young Scientist Awards as well. Applicants must be graduate students, post-graduate students or post-doctoral fellows with a maximum age of 30 (exceptionally 35). Preference will be given to those young scientists who have published in IUCr journals.

The European Mineralogical Union offers two grants of 400 each to students with a background in mineralogy, mineralogical crystallography or mineral physics covering in full their registration fee.

Bruker AXS offers one grant of 420 , thus covering in full the registration fee for AICS2016, to a student with at least one published research paper or proved expertise in structural characterization of pharmaceutical compounds by X-ray diffraction. The awardee will also be presented with a certificate during the Closing ceremony of AICS2016.

The Mineralogical Society of Great Britain and Ireland offers one grant of 300 , thus covering partially the registration fee for AICS2016, to an outstanding student with an interest in crystallography of mineralogical and related compounds. The awardee will also be presented with a certificate during the Closing ceremony of AICS2016.
