The venue of the AICS2018 school is: Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra e Geoambientali, University of Bari, Campus, Via E. Orabona, 4 - Bari, Italy.

The main Campus entrances are:
- Via Giuseppe Re David, 200 (pedestrian entrance)
- Via Edoardo Orabona, 4

How to reach Bari and the venue

By car

1. From ‘SS16 BIS’: Follow the signs for Bari Tangenziale (direction Brindisi), take Exit 13A ‘San Pasquale’ of the bypass of Bari, and continue on via Giovanni Amendola for about one km. Turn left at the second traffic light onto Viale Einaudi, turn right at the second traffic light onto via Salvemini, continue straight ahead. After 300 m you will be in front of the entrance to the Campus.
2. From ‘A14′ Adriatica Highway coming from north: Exit BARI-NORD and follow the signs for Bari Tangenziale (direction Brindisi-Lecce), then follow the indication as in 1.
3. From ‘A14′ Adriatica Highway coming from south: Exit BARI-SUD (the only exit for Bari) and follow the signs for Bari Tangenziale (direction Brindisi-Taranto), then follow the indication as in 1.

By train

Bari Centrale is the main railway station of Bari, located in the city centre (Piazza Aldo Moro). It is about 2 km far from the ferry terminal at Bari port and 14 km far from the International Airport of Bari.
Note that there are fewer services on the weekend.

From “Bari Centrale” train Station it is possible to reach the Campus
by foot:
Use one of the three subways of the station to reach via Capruzzi. At the exit of the underpass turn left and continue on via Capruzzi for about 300m, turn right onto via Re David and continue straight until the entrance to the Campus.
by bus:
Public transport timetable can be checked at (Italian only).
The public transport lines available are:
Line 21 (with stop in via Re David)
Line 22 (with stop in via Amendola, near the Dipartimento di Agraria)
The terminal of line 22 is in front of the entrance of “Bari Centrale” Station (Piazza Aldo Moro) while the line 21 is about 10 meters ahead. The buses of line 21 have a frequency of about 30 minutes while those of 22 every 40 minutes. Tickets must be purchased before boarding the bus (€ 1).

By plane
The International Airport of Bari (IATA airport code: BRI) is located 14 km from the city centre. Bari is connected with the main Italian airports in Rome and Milan by more than 6 flights a day and with other European cities (e.g. London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Zurich, Budapest, Frankfurt, Valencia, etc.) by low cost companies flights. Please check the available flights directly at the airport website.
From the airport to the city:

By Taxi
Taxis stand in front of the Arrivals Hall [tel: (+39) 080 554 3333 or (+39) 080 534 6666]. The taxi ride to Karol Wojtyla international airport is 25-27€ and takes about 20-30 min.

By Public Transport
AMTAB BUS 16. From/to city center (Piazza Aldo Moro). Schedule: service starts at 4.45 am and ends at 23.00 pm. Average waiting time is 40-50 minutes.

By Shuttle Bus
TEMPESTA BUS COMPANY provides direct connection from the airport to “Bari Centrale” Station, and viceversa. The bus stop is in Piazza Aldo Moro. Travel time: 25/30 minutes. Fare: approximately € 4,00 one way. For timetables please see website.

By Railway Link
A train line connecting the airport to “Bari Centrale” Station is available. One way ticket fare is approximately € 5,00 and it takes about 15 minutes. Tickets can be bought at the same prize both Online and at the Ferrotramviaria train station near arrivals.
